Gordon: Drug lords in, out of PH

Two Chinese drug traffickers involved in the “ninja cops” case have been re-entering the country using false identities, Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Chairman Richard Gordon alleged in a series of tweets.

“Ding Wenkun and Johnson Lee, the drug lords in the 2013 bust, keep coming in and out with different passports. This is part of the systemic failure of the Bureau of Immigration,” his tweets read.

Gordon added that the lack of policing of Chinese workers in the Philippines is instrumental in getting illegal drugs into the country.

“Some sectors are happy that the Chinese are coming in because of the money they bring. The question is, do we choose money over national interest? This is eroding the moral fiber of the country—drugs, gambling, prostitution are rampant because the Chinese have money to spend on these,” he said.

The Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group recently filed criminal charges against resigned PNP chief Oscar Albayalde and 13 “ninja cops” for allegedly allowing Johnson Lee to get away in exchange for 160 kilos of shabu worth P50 million.
