President Rodrigo Duterte has been wearing an air purifier necklace since 11 October to protect him from catching cough and colds from other people.

Duterte has to wear an air purifier in his neck for his own health, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel and Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said on Friday.

Panelo said given the President’s age, it is important to always look after his health and well-being.

Based on presidential photos, the President started using the air purifier during the 42nd Cabinet meeting last 11 October 2019.

The President was again seen wearing the air purifier during the visit of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind to Malacañang Friday afternoon.
