5.0-magnitude earthquake rattles Cotabato

A 5.0-magnitude quake rocked Cotabato province early Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The tremor which had a depth of 12 km hit at 6:52 a.m. Its epicenter is located at

Intensities were reported across areas of Cotabato and Sarangani. Intensity 4 was reported in Kidapawan City, intensity 3 in Tupi, Koronadal City and Tampakan, South Cotabato while intensity II was recorded in General Santos City.

PHIVOLCS said that it is an aftershock of the 6.3-magnitude tremblor that rattled North Cotabato on Wednesday.

The agency is not expecting any damages or aftershocks.
