Cloth weaves are very much alive

Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2019 Leren Mae Bautista walked in a silver fringe dress with a shimmering ruffled tulle overlay by Chico Estiva. The fabric that he used was the Jusi and Burda of Laguna.

Last 22 and 23 September, guests witnessed the hidden gems of Philippine fashion. Through the advocacy of Lynn Bentsen Talent and Fashion Academy and the direction of Cata Figueroa Jr. and Raymond Villanueva, the fashion show with a cause showcased over 90 designers and over 100 models at the SMX Convention Center Aura, Taguig.

happy Andrada’s designs depicted a sunny day where ladies watch their men play Polo. She managed to modernize the Piña Jusi of Quezon into an elegant and unique ensemble.

Some of the prominent faces who walked the runway were Lynn Bentsen herself, Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2019 Leren Mae Bautista and other seasoned models who also walked the runway to pay tribute to the late Eddie Baddeo who died last 16 August.

Lynn Bentsen revealed that the show will not only uplift the fabrics and the designers but also the people who produce them. If the fabrics are put into the spotlight, people who are looking for them will know where to get them and the more they are looked for, the less will their price be. Also, the producers of the fabrics will have a livelihood.

To name a few, designers who joined the show and exhibited their artistic prowess were Happy Andrada, Nina Corpuz, Levenson Rodriguez, Unity Ong Tan Ka and Julius Tarog.
