Solon: Suspend SLEX toll fees

A solon has filed a resolution urging the operator of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to suspend or lower the rates of toll fees due to the worsening traffic conditions in the expressway.

With House Resolution 428, Laguna 3rd Dist. Rep. Sol Aragones said the ongoing construction of the Skyway extension that required the closure of some SLEX lanes inconvenienced many commuters.

“Now therefore, be it resolved as it is hereby resolved, that the House of Representatives urge the operators of the SLEX to suspend the collection of payment of toll fees or lower the rates collected from the motorists and the commuters for a period of six months,” Aragones said.

The House Committee on Tourism chairperson said it was her constituents who pushed her to file the resolution that would suspend temporarily the payment of SLEX toll fees.
