Suspects in VM’s killing released by prosecutor

The suspects in the shooting of Batuan, Masbate Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson III have been ordered “referred for further investigation” by the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.

The ruling signed by Jovencio Senados, chief of Inquest Division-Office of the Manila City Prosecutor, on Friday 11 October allows Bradford Solis Fuerte, Juanito de Luna Bustamante, Rigor de la Cruz and Junel Gomez Reyes to walk free from any charges.

Yuson was gunned down on 9 October while having breakfast at an eatery in Sampaloc, Manila.

Th suspects were arrested following a dragnet launched by the Manila Police District (MPD) that started at Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard and reached all the way to Quirino Avenue.

Their vehicle was tailed by police after a radio report was sent out by barangay officials. Recovered from them were guns allegedly used in Yuson’s murder.

MPD officials refused to comment on the ruling, saying the release was beyond their control.
