Oh my! Japan rescuers drop granny from chopper

A rescue chopper like this one dropped an elderly woman like a hot potato but it was unintended, of course.

A woman in her 70s died after a rescue helicopter dropped her into the ground from 40 meters up during the onslaught of Typhoon Hagibis across Japan.

The elderly woman was brought to the hospital but she died from her injuries, bringing to 19 so far the death toll in the worst storm to hit mainland Japan in 60 years.

The freak accident happened in Iwaki City in Fukushima. Around 27,000 military troops were deployed to rescue people trapped by rampaging flood.
