Now Corp., BrenPro ink wireless Internet agreement

It is deemed as Southeast Asia’s largest esports training complex.

NOW Corp., the telecommunications firm vying for the fourth telco slot, bagged a fiber air services agreement with e-sports provider BrenPro Inc.

Now told the Philippine Stock Exchange on Monday that under the agreement, it will provide fiber air services to BrenPro for a contract of two years.

BrenPro currently owns e-sports and content creation subsidiary brands Bren Esports, the Mobile Sports Arena, BrenPro TV and NEXT Talents.

Now said that it powered BrenPro’s P100-million, 2,000-square meter training facility in Makati City. It is deemed as Southeast Asia’s largest esports training complex.

To date, BrenPro’s esports facility has the capacity to house the training and scrimmages of “Team Sibol,” the Philippines’ esports representative athletes in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games which will compete in the following games: Arena of Valor, DOTA 2, Hearthstone, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Starcraft 2 and Tekken 7. The facility also serves as the official training grounds for the representatives of Team Philippines that will participate in the 2019 Overwatch World Cup.

“What Now did to win us over was to prioritize speed and customer experience to a bandwidth-intensive company like BrenPro. While other ISPs (Internet services providers) tried to offer their services to us, Now’s quick activation of Fiber Air in less than four weeks solidified our confidence in their ability to deliver,” BrenPro chief operating officer Leo Andrew Escutin said.

“We value partnerships that provide a premium, value added care to our needs. Now’s first-class accommodation endeared their brand with BrenPro’s brand of excellence,” he added.

For his part, Now deputy chief executive officer Rodolfo Pantoja said that the company is confident that its Internet service will provide the “competitive advantage” that BrenPro was looking for.

Last week, Now also inked a fiber air services agreement with the Aboitiz Group’s Union Bank of the Philippines for the provision of a guaranteed Internet access for the latter’s digitalization plan.

Initially, the two companies activated the first 1 gigabit per second broadband connectivity at Union Bank’s headquarters in Pasig City.
