LRT-2 starts partial operations

The Light Rail Transit -2 (LRT-2) is back on track today, 8 October, but will only offer limited and shortened operations.

The train management announced that it will ferry passengers between Cubao and Recto stations from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The last train from Cubao will leave at 8:30 p.m. while the last train from Recto will depart at 9 p.m.

The entire line of the LRT-2 operations stopped after two rectifiers caught fire near the Katipunan station on 3 October.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has issued special permits to 79 buses and 10 jeepneys to ferry LRT-2 commuters. The permits will have a six-month validity.
