Cops nab Chinese, cohorts in drug sting

A Chinese national and two Filipinos were arrested during a police buy-bust operation in Quezon City Tuesday that also saw 10 kilos of suspected shabu with a street value of P68 million being seized from the suspects.

Liu Fu Gui together with Keith Anthony Romo, a Filipino call center programmer and Nonito Garlindo, a local gasoline boy were arrested around 4:30 p.m. along Sta. Catalina Street in Barangay Sienna after transacting with a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) officer posing as buyer, said PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region Director Joel B. Plaza.

Officers from the Quezon City Police District’s Police Station 2 helped in arresting the suspects.

Confiscated and seized during the buy-bust operation were 10 pieces of transparent plastic packs containing 1 kilogram of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu believed to be worth P68 million, two units of 4-wheeled drive vehicles and the buy-bust money.

The suspects are facing criminal charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Illegal possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Article II of the Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
