LTO checks vehicle roadworthiness

As part of the directive by President Rodrigo Duterte to ensure the roadworthiness of vehicles, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) conducted Random Vehicle Inspection for Roadworthiness in various areas in Metro Manila, and in Regions III, IV-A and IV-B.

Complying with standards of roadworthiness is integral in the implementation of the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program, which aims to make public transportation roadworthy, safe, and comfortable for commuters.

LTO personnel inspected vehicles at major terminals and along highways.

Some bus operators were immediately directed to resolve issues with their units that failed the random inspection.
