Bomb threat hits Mapua

A bomb threat once again hit Mapua University in Intramuros, Manila on Thursday morning.

The management of Mapua University Manila in response ordered the suspension of classes as it implemented a “digital day,” where online classes were held in place of classroom sessions.

It was learned that at 8:20 a.m., the Mapua administration received the bomb threat prompting it to quickly order all employees and students to vacate the campus.

The evacuation was held in an orderly manner, followed by the arrival of the Manila Police District-Explosives and Ordnance Division (EOD).

At 10:30 a.m., EOD declared the Intramuros campus to be negative from any explosive device and other hazardous materials.

The university management assured the public it will implement strict security measures in its campus to ensure safety of students and employees, which is its priority.

It will be recalled that last 19 September, the Mapua University campuses in Intramuros and Makati suspended classes due to separate bomb threats.
