DFA: Two Pinoys killed in Palau accident

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday revealed that two Filipinos were killed while another was injured as they figured in an accident in Palau Island on 29 September.

In a statement released, the DFA said that there were three Filipinos figured in an accident involving a flatbed truck that lost control and fell into the sea in Palau, an island country in the western Pacific Ocean.

According to Consul General to Agana Marciano de Borja, they are working closely with Palau authorities to immediately repatriate the remains of the victims as well as to obtain additional details on the accident.

Initial investigation by Palau authorities showed there was no foul play involved in the incident while the employers of the victims have also agreed to shoulder the cost of bringing the remains back to Manila.

The Consulate, likewise, will be providing assistance to the sole survivor as needed.
