Harassment, ‘Bikoy’ dismisses perjury rap

Whistleblower Peter Joemel Advincula, alias “Bikoy” branded as a harassment suit the perjury case filed by Quezon Rep. Erin Tanada and his fellow lawyers from the Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG).

In a counter affidavit he filed yesterday before the Department of Justice, Advincula claimed only government prosecutors will be able to determine if there was any truth to his sworn testimony in the sedition complaint filed against those allegedly involved in discrediting President Rodrigo Duterte through the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” viral videos.

Earlier, Tanada , his fellow FLAG lawyers Jose Manuel “Chel” Diokno and former Supreme Court spokesman Theodore Te filed the case against him.

Advincula reminded the complainants that they are among the 36 respondents in a sedition complaint filed by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

His counter-affidavit stated that the complaint was a result of the affidavit-complaint for sedition, inciting to sedition, to sedition, cyber libel and harboring criminal/obstruction of justice which he earlier filed against various individuals.

“To include the herein complaints, hence, is nothing more but a harassment suit, and is intended to deter the undersigned from further testifying and disclosing the facts and participation of the various individuals in the said sedition cases,” his counter-affidavit said.
