Mocha back with OWWA appointment

Her name was among those in the latest list of presidential appointees released by Malacanang on Monday.

She’s back Margaux “Mocha” Uson is back in government service as she takes on a role as an Overseas Workers Welfare Administration executive.

After some time away, Margaux “Mocha” Uson, the controversial former Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) official, is back in government this time as an executive of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

According to Palace documents, Uson was tapped as Deputy Executive Director V (Deputy Administrator) of OWWA, an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) last 23 September. Her name was among those in the latest list of presidential appointees released by Malacañang on Monday.

OFW advocate Susan “Toots” Ople on Monday has welcomed the appointment of Uson as her addition to the agency could be helpful since the agency lacks manpower.

“Right now, OWWA is heavily understaffed and needs a lot of help in communicating its programs and services,” Ople said.

Despite the controversy Uson was involved with in the PCOO, Ople still believe that she could perform well in her new duty in OWWA.

“I expect her to be on full learning mode and develop teamwork and camaraderie with the rest of the OWWA team,” Ople said.

The Commission on Elections on the other hand dismissed the matter that Uson, being re-appointed in a government post, is unconstitional.

To recall, Uson ran as the first nominee of AA Kasosyo partylist. She, however, failed to earn enough votes to win a seat in the House of Representatives.
