2 foreign fugitives nabbed in Cebu

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported yesterday the arrest of two foreign fugitives wanted by authorities in their country for serious offenses.

They were identified as American national Arthur Mark Curts, 61, and Chinese national Dong Jinxi, 66, who were arrested recently in Cebu.

Undesirable aliens American national Arthur Mark Curts and Chinese native Dong Jinxi were arrested for various infractions that include overstaying.

Curts was arrested in the town of Liloan City, Cebu last 21 September while Dong was arrested five days later inside a five-star hotel in Mandaue City.

BI officials said that Curts was issued an arrest warrant by the US district court in Florida on charges of theft of government funds and making a false statement, in violation of 18 US Code Sec 1001. On the other hand, Dong is wanted for smuggling and has a standing warrant of arrest issued by a Chinese court.

Both their names will also be included in the BI Blacklist to prevent them from reentering the country. The two arrested fugitives will be deported for being undesirable aliens and for being undocumented as their passport were already cancelled by their respective governments.
