Alleged drug queen in US

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Guillermo Eleazar revealed on Monday that Manila’s alleged “drug queen,” Guia Gomez Castro, is now in the United States.

In a statement, the NCRPO chief said that intelligence reports disclosed that Castro — who was earlier reported to have left the country for Thailand — also went to Taiwan before going to the US.

“Based on our monitoring, she went to Bangkok and from there, she went straight to Taiwan and then to the United States,” said Eleazar, who noted that Castro is also under financial investigation.

While the authorities are still tracking her down with the help of foreign counterparts, efforts are also being made to cancel her passport and visa.

Eleazar noted that her relatives and those helping Castro are also under investigation but there is no timeline or target completion for the investigation.

Malacañang earlier welcomed the suggestion to cancel Castro’s travel document given that she has existing arrest warrants.

To recall, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno on Monday called on the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to bring back Castro to the Philippines after immigration officials confirmed that she and her family had flown to Bangkok, Thailand.
