Far Eastern University (FEU) banked on the big game from Patrick Tchuente to beat Adamson University, 83-71, to bag a crucial win in Season 82 UAAP men’s basketball tournament Saturday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Cameroonian big man tallied a career-high 21 points to go along with his 19 rebounds and six blocks as the Tamaraws created a three-team logjam at No. 4 spot along with La Salle and Adamson at 3-4.

Xyrus Torres also dished out his best performance yet for the Morayta-based team with 21 points along five rebounds.

Fil-Peruvian Valandre Chauca paced the Soaring Falcons with 14 points while Jerrick Ahanmisi chipped in 12 for the team of coach Franz Pumaren.

Behind Tchuente, Torres and LJ Gonzales, FEU broke away from a tight contest after leading by only seven, 38-31 at halftime.
