Skin brand gives back to society

A homegrown skincare brand has always looked for ways to interweave beauty and magic through its wand of goodness since its inception in 2013. This is because the power couple behind Skin Magical, Ghie and Jerry Pangilinan, makes it their personal and corporate maxims to give back to society — from helping people in enhancing their looks, to assisting their distributors/resellers in achieving business success and contributing in noble causes that benefit their fellow Filipinos.

Ghie and Jerry recently graced the Summer Palace Mid-Autumn Ball 2019, a formal dinner event which celebrated the 30th Anniversary of ABS-CBN Foundation. Proceeds from the event will be used for the benefit of the foundation’s commendable programs such as Bantay Bata 163, Bantay Kalikasan and Sagip Kapamilya. The gathering saw the couple rubbing elbows with the biggest and brightest personalities in the country including Charo Santos-Concio, ABS-CBN’s chief content officer.

Ghie enthused, “We are deeply honored to be part of the mid-autumn ball. We always want to contribute in a relevant cause. That is why we didn’t have any second thoughts when we were invited to join the event. We support ABS-CBN Foundation in its various advocacies.”

The couple seizes every opportunity to assist their fellow Filipinos in whatever platforms available. Ghie recently participated as a mentor of Go Negosyo, Mentor Me on Wheels which took place in SM City Pampanga. Joining her as mentor in the event was her sister, Joyce Ruelos, who is the CEO and founder of Icosmetica.

Having good hearts, it is no wonder Ghie and Jerry are blessed. Ghie is in high spirits these days. She is a finalist in the upcoming Asia Leaders Awards 2019: Global Excellence. She is nominated in several categories: Entrepreneur of the Year, Start Up Company of the Year (Skin Magical), Young Leader of the Year, Young CEO of the Year, SME Company of the Year and Influencer of the Year. The event is co-presented by the Embassy of Malaysia and Korea with American Association of the Philippines.

Likewise, she will be recognized in a dinner charity on 28 September by the American Association of the Philippines (AAP) as one of those who are helping its beneficiaries.

Jerry was a seaman while Ghie worked as an online seller. They endured a long-distance relationship for several years just to provide for the needs of their two children. Difficult times dared them to take risks. They tried their luck in the papaya soap business and, to their delight, it became a lucrative success. Their beautiful and magical journey continues. Despite their immense success, the kind-hearted couple looks back to their humble beginnings.

Aside from their growing loyal clients and business expansions, Skin Magical has recently collaborated with ABS-CBN’s top-rating afternoon series Kadenang Ginto with its four Gandang Palaban sets. The beauty regimen sets (which depend on skin types or preferences) are intended to empower women using the series’ leading and well-loved characters like Cassie, Marga, Romina and Daniela who have now become household names.
