PNP bad eggs undergo reformation course

Amid controversy sparked by the so-called “ninja cops,” some 50 erring personnel of the Philippine National Police (PNP), comprising the third batch of policemen subjected to 30-day program, were sent to Subic to undergo reformation course which is part of the command’s intensified internal cleansing.

The third batch of participants of the new PNP reformation program came from Police Regional Offices 1, 2, 3 and 4A (CALABARZON), National Capital Region Police Office, Intelligence Group, Internal Affairs Service and Directorate for Intelligence.

PNP chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde noted most of their offenses were administrative and criminal cases, and some of them have been charged before the Office of the Ombudsman for maltreatment and crimes against persons.

Albayalde warned that the PNP high command will continue to go hard against erring cops.

“As I have said from the very start of my administration as the PNP chief, I will not tolerate these erroneous acts of some PNP personnel,” Albayalde said.

“I imposed a strict discipline, reform and internal cleansing to this organization. Some of them will be penalized with demotion and suspension,” Albayalde added.

During the Focused Reformation/Reorientation and Moral Enhancement for Police Officer in Line with Internal Cleansing Efforts, the participants are expected to restore good values and put behind them their dark history.
