Murder suspect surrenders to Yorme

Police had considered the case closed until the suspect in the bloody murder of a female Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau personnel surrendered to Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Wednesday morning.

The suspect was identified as Eric Capulong 46, the live-in partner of Concepcion Beldad, 39, of Balut, Tondo, who was hammered to death following an altercation.

Domagoso and operatives of the Special Mayors Reaction Team (SMaRT) led by P/Major Rosalino Ibay, proceeded to the said place and coordinated with the suspect’s family that resulted to his voluntary surrender.

Prior to the arrest, at about 2:30 a.m., the suspect and the victim had a heated argument after the latter tried to break up with him. In his fury, he hit the victim with a hammer on her head.

Relatives of the victim rushed her to Tondo Medical Center, but she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Capulong was immediately brought to the SMaRT Office for inquest proceedings.
