BCFI donates P124M to Red Cross

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) recently received the largest single cash donation in its history, P124 million, from Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. (BCFI), the corporate social responsibility arm of Bloomberry Resort & Hotel, Inc. (BRHI), operator of Solaire Resort & Casino in Parañaque City.

PRC Chairman and CEO, Senator Richard J. Gordon, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the donation which he personally received from BCFI President, Donato C. Almeda during a ceremonial turnover.

The donation will fund three major projects of PRC. One is the Dialysis Samaritan Program which covers the sponsorship of a complete kidney care treatment plan for indigent patients with kidney failure and the conduct of public awareness campaigns for the prevention and control of kidney disease, hypertension and diabetes.

The second program is the “Safe Blood for All” aimed at improving access of indigent and charity patients to safe and quality blood, complementing existing services of the government.

The third program is the capacity enhancement of the PRC Olongapo Charter.
