OFW qualify to OWWA aid

Malolos City, Bulacan — The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) revealed that around 11,200 overseas Filipino workers (OFW) from Bulacan are qualified for financial grants through the agency’s rebates program.

Gov. Daniel Fernando said that these 11,200 OFW should grab the opportunity to get their financial grants offered by the OWWA as he cited the sacrifices of the “modern day” heroes.

“To our OFW, you are helping our government with your sacrifices. There are many programs in our agency that you can take advantage of,” said Fernando.

“So, for those who are not yet members of OWWA, take advantage of the opportunity to become a member because there are so many benefits available such as scholarships for your child and medical assistance in the event that you happen to be overseas,” he said.

According to OWWA, OFW who are qualified for the rebate are members who have been part of the agency for 10 years, with at least five or more contributions made as of 31 December 2017.
