2 LPAs, monsoon drench Metro Manila

THE monsoon is also affecting parts of the Visayas.

Weather bureau PAGASA said in its Tuesday morning forecast that two low pressure areas (LPA) compounded by the southwest monsoon are behind the rains that are drenching Luzon, especially Metro Manila.

One of the LPAs was spotted 715 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes as of 3 a.m. while another was seen 130 km west southwest of Iba, Zambales.

The southwest monsoon, meanwhile, is affecting not only central and southern Luzon but also western Visayas.

Monsoon rains have drenched Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Palawan and Mindoro.

Overcast skies will prevail over the Bicol region, Western Visayas and the rest of Central Luzon. Experiencing scattered rains were the CALABARZON and MIMAROPA regions.
