‘Marilyn’ to re-enter PAR

Tropical depression “Marilyn,” which has dissolved into a low pressure area (LPA), is threatening to re-enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the weather state bureau reported Monday.

The LPA was last seen 1935 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes and is expected back in the country within the next 48 hours.

Another LPA was seen at 410 km west of Zambales but is less likely to develop into tropical depression.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon (habagat) is triggering rains over Luzon and Western Visayas.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and Western Visayas while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA also raised a Yellow Warning advisory and General Flood Advisory (GFA) over select Luzon areas.

Residents of Zambales including Iba, Santa Cruz, Candelaria, Masinloc, Palauig, Botolan, Cabangan, are under Yellow Warning, while GFA is up in Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON and MIMAROPA.
