Cebu Coast Guard suspends 9 sea trips

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Central Visayas suspended the sailing of nine passengers ferries Friday as a safety precaution against tropical depression Marilyn.

Lt. Grade Michael Encina, the spokesman of PCG-CV, told media that the first three vessels suspended were those sailing from Pilar in Camotes island, Cebu to Ormoc City in Leyte.

Six other fastcrafts going from Cebu to the cities of Ormoc and Tagbiliran and Getafe in Bohol were also suspended.

Meanwhile, Encina said PCG-CV is on the watch for motorboats below 250 gross tonnage that may travel to island barangays like in Olango island in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
