2 LPAs brewing off PAR

Two low-pressure areas (LPAs) are brewing outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau reported Tuesday.

One is located at 115 kilometers west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte while the other, expected to enter PAR on Wednesday, is at 1,930 km east of Southern Luzon.

Southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, CALABARZON, and Cagayan Valley while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.

Meanwhile, continuous rains caused flash flood in several areas in Pangasinan, prompting the local government to suspend classes.

Classes in all levels are canceled in Labrador, Dagupan City, Calasiao, Malasiqui, Infanta, Mangatarem, San Carlos City, San Jacinto, Bayambang, Mabini, Burgos, Lingayen, Urbiztondo, Urdaneta City, San Fabian,Basista, Binmaley, Aguilar, Dasol, Bugallon, Agno, Sta. Barbara, San Manuel, Asingan and Laoac while classes from preschool to high school are suspended in Alcala, Sto.Tomas, San Nicolas, Sual, Alaminos City, Mangaldan and Bautista.

The local government also directed pre-emptive and forced evacuation of residents situated in identified hazard-prone areas.

Pampanga also reported it has 53 villages (barangay) under water.
