U.S. maritime exercise culminates in Thailand

The Philippine Navy participated in the recently-concluded ASEAN-United States Maritime Exercises in Thailand.

Gulf of Thailand — The Philippine Navy (PN) joined other ASEAN and United States navies in the recently concluded ASEAN-United States Maritime Exercises (AUMX) 2019 aboard HTMS Krabi (RTN) along the gulf of Thailand last week.

Joining six other warships, three aircrafts and three chartered commercial ships, PN patrol ship BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PS16) was also part of the Vessels of Interest (VOI) during this exercise held from 2 to 6 September, which was hosted by the United States Navy (USN) and Royal Thai Navy (RTN).

Participating navies arrived at the designated exercise area last 3 September after a week-long sail, which included the HTMS Krabi (RTN), USS Montgomery (LCS-8), KDB Darulaman (RBN), RSS Tenacious (RSN), Myanmar Frigate King Kyan Sitt Thar (F-12) and Vietnam Corvette 19.

Concluding the exercise was a Photo Exercise and the Visit Board Search and Seizure.

The parallel closing ceremonies were conducted at the Information Fusion Center (IFC) in Changi, C2 Center, Singapore by the Command Support Element Ashore, which acted as the Liaison Officers of the different participating nations.
