Aces, Elite swap forwards

Alaska, now under new head coach Jeffrey Cariaso, continued to make changes after sending Carl Bryan Cruz to Blackwater for rookie Abu Tratter in a deal that was already agreed in principle by both camps.

The trade papers are still in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Office and is expected to be approved by commissioner Willy Marcial, who is coming back from China after supporting the campaign of Gilas Pilipinas in the International Basketball Federation World Cup.

It was the first move made by Cariaso after replacing resigned coach Alex Compton at the helm of the Aces franchise.

The 28-year old Cruz, a product of Far Eastern University, already attended the practice of Blackwater yesterday.

Cruz’s role last Commissioner’s Cup had dropped a bit as he just averaged 13.8 minutes per game exposure while averaging 5.3 points, 2.6 rebounds on 26-percent clip from the three-point area.

In the Philippine Cup, Cruz was given a 27.2 minutes per game playing time and normed 12.6 points and 5.1 rebounds on top of the 41 percent shooting from the field.
