‘Liwayway’ leaving PAR today

Tropical Storm “Liwayway” slightly intensified Wednesday morning as it slowly moves outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) expects the weather disturbance to exit PAR within 24 hours.

Liwayway was last spotted 305 km northeast of Basco, Batanes. It is packing maximum winds of up to 130 kph and gustiness of up to 160 kph and is moving north at 10kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #1 over Batanes has been lifted but the typhoon will bring light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

It will also enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing scattered light to moderate rains with at times heavy rain showers during thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon.
