Who buys ‘em?

Now that the gloves are off, the opponents of President Rody Duterte are all over the planet to spread vicious lies against the still popular leader.

Robredo is now making her pitch in the United States, while Judy Taguiwalo, Rody’s former Social Welfare Secretary, is touring New Zealand to talk about “Tyranny and Terror under Duterte.”

Her billing is that she was “one of three progressives appointed to the Cabinet on the mutual agreement of the Duterte administration and the NDFP (National Democratic Front of the Philippines) as a goodwill measure to start the peace talks.”

Further misrepresentations about her were that she agreed to take the position, “hoping to advance progressive change in the Philippines.”

More propaganda released for her claimed, “She pushed reforms to improve the distribution of aid to the poor, including removing the corrupt practice requiring welfare recipients to get a signature from a local political representative to receive assistance, while also opposing reactionary policies of the Duterte administration, such as the reimposition of the death penalty and support for extrajudicial killings.”

In the New Zealand speaking tour, she will supposedly give “an insider account of the present administration, her views on the current human rights situation in the Philippines, and what the international community can do to show solidarity for the victims of oppression under the brutal Duterte regime.”

The lies peddled are not too different from Robredo and her fellow yellow’s claim of persecution, while freely moving about in the country and abroad to spread their venom.

The real score is that Taguiwalo, former Department of Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano and erstwhile National Anti-Poverty Commission Secretary and lead convenor Liza Maza were given the chance to put their ideology to work and help Filipinos improve their lot, but in the end, all they did was to exploit their positions to help in consolidating the communist forces.

Rody in his speeches said he decided to remove the three officials because all they wanted was to impose their ideals.

“I placed them in government with the hope that we will be able to reach a common understanding, but they wanted to impose on government their own ideals,” he said.

“The ideal thing for them to have done would be to lobby the concerns of those who are in the movement,” according to the President.

In anger, he branded the communist dictum as an “ideology of an idiot,” which he said he is barring from being propagated because, “The government will never wage war against its own people. The job of the government is to preserve the nation from those who want to occupy our land.”

The President also called on the insurgents to consider laying down their arms and allow peace to reign on the land.

“You NPA must have lost your mind when you believed in the armed struggle. We will just keep on killing each other then. Fifty-three years. Think about it. Sleep on it. For 53 years, so many lives were wasted. You will die and get buried in the forest. Your children will grow up not even knowing what you look like,” he suggested to the movement.

The communist rebels and the Liberal Party had long forged a tactical alliance to seek the ouster of Rody who they consider as a chief impediment in their power grab agenda.

Rody maintains overwhelming public support that acts as a shield against all efforts to demonize him and in turn acts as a deflector that pulls down public support to these detractors.

Taguiwalo and the whole communist movement had the best opportunity to pursue a peaceful solution offered by Rody to end a stretched-out rebellion that had cost the lives of Filipinos, both on the side of the state forces and the guerillas.

If the greater interest of Filipinos is the real aim of the Communist Party of the Philippines and its founder Jose Maria Sison, they would have grabbed the golden chance of working with a President who professes understanding the social reforms that they supposedly aim for.

Leftist and yellow leaders now have zero credibility with Filipinos, which explains their preference to peddling their lies overseas.
