‘Hello Love, Goodbye’ makes cinema history

Hello Love, Goodbye, the movie starred by Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo, is now in the annals of Philippine cinema history as it became the the highest grossing Philippine movie of all time, with a worldwide gross of P880,603,490.

In a statement on Tuesday, movie producer Star Cinema announced the milestone of the movie directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and during the movie’s thanksgiving party, Richards thanked Star Cinema for the trust.

“I’m grateful that you gambled on me. Thank you because I have not yet realized that I’m that worthy,” Richards said, dedicating everything to Garcia-Molina.

The historic run of “Hello, Love, Goodbye” also cements Bernardo’s status as a box-office superstar, and Garcia-Molina’s as a blockbuster director.

In fact, with this new achievement, the long-time collaborators broke their own record. Their 2018 film, “The Hows of Us,” also a Star Cinema production where Bernardo starred opposite her real-life boyfriend Daniel Padilla, was previously the highest grossing Philippine film with over P800 million in global gross — until “Hello, Love, Goodbye” surpassed that.

Bernardo and Garcia-Molina now effectively hold the distinction of being the only actress and director with two films earning more than P800 million each.

During her speech, Molina also thanked Richards and called him “one of the most mabait na nakasama namin.”
