Filipinos safe in Bahamas

The Philippine embassy in Washington assured all Filipinos in the Bahamas are safe amid the tragedy caused by Hurricane Dorian.

At least five have been reported killed in the aftermath of the monster tornado.

A Facebook post on Tuesday reported no Filipino died in Dorian-hit Abaco and Grand Bahama.

An estimated 2,000 Filipinos are in the Bahamas, most of them in Nassau.

Filipinos in Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas are advised to take precautions as Dorian makes its way to the southeastern coast.
