Medevac plane crashes in Laguna resort

A medical evacuation plane transporting a patient from Zamboanga del Norte to Manila crashed and burst into flames in a house in Pansol, Laguna Sunday afternoon.

The crash in Miramonte Village was reported around 3:34 p.m., according to the Laguna Police Provincial Office.

A report posted on the Facebook page of the Philippine Emergency Alerts indicates the plane with body number RPC2296 had just fetched a patient from Dipolog City and was returning to Manila when it crashed.

Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines spokesperson Eric Apolonio was also quoted in the post as telling a radio reporter that the plane has been missing since 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Eye witnesses said they saw the plane flying erratically before it crashed. Parts of the private plane were scattered near the crash site and other houses were reportedly damaged.

Authorities are yet to report the number of fatality from the crash.
