Clavite: What resignation?

Former Philippine Information Agency (PIA) director general Harold Clavite did not resign his post but was fired by way of a letter from Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea last Friday.

Clavite, who claimed allegations of corruptions involving his former office were just a smear job, said on Sunday he did not send any resignation letter to the Office of the President.

He issued the statement over reports that the letter he received from the palace said the President accepted his letter of resignation.

The former PIA official was accused of “contract-splitting” and ordering the full payment for projects not yet completed.
