OMB sneaks in on bus firms showing pirated movies

Amid multiple reports of buses showing the popular movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” the Optical Media Board (OMB) on Wednesday raided the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) where they seized a number of USB flash drives containing pirated films.

The anti-piracy agency caught buses operated by Metro Manila Bus Co., SanTrans Corporation and Saulog Transit showing illegally-downloaded movies, including Hello, Love, Goodbye and Avengers.

The bus firms are facing possible administrative and criminal charges for violating Republic Act No. 9239 or the Optical Media Act of 2003.

If found guilty, parties will face imprisonment of up to six years and fines reaching P1,000,000.
