Man hacked to death

Police are now conducting an investigation regarding the death of a 39-year old construction worker whose body was found at the barracks of a construction site in Quezon City on Sunday night.

The Quezon City Police District-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) headquarters in Camp Karingal identified the victim as Ruel Hugar, single, a native of Butuan City, Agusan del Sur, and a stay-in at the construction site located at Bagong Silangan High School, Villamor Street corner Capinpin Street, Barangay Bagong Silangan

It was learned that the victim’s body was discovered at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the said barracks.

Prior to discovering the victim, he and his co-workers had a drinking spree at the construction site.

At about 8:30 p.m., witness/vendor Teresa Cortez went to the construction site to keep her vegetables there when she saw the body of the victim lying on his left side, bloodied.

Cortez immediately reported the matter to the barangay who then informed police for investigation and proper disposition.

Scene of the Crime Operatives arrived and processed the crime scene. An examination on the body later revealed that Hugar sustained a laceration on his neck.

The remains of the victim were taken to Lights Funeral Homes for autopsy.
