Beware aspiring Romeos still loveless with Valentine’s Day just around the corner.

A 25-year-old male had sought police assistance after sending compromising photos and videos to a “woman” he flirted with over the Internet. His prospective Juliet named “Hanna” turned out to be as male as he is.

“Hanna” – Bien Marco Gopez in real life – was arrested over the weekend in a remittance center in Barangay 167, Caloocan City as he was getting the P4,000 he extorted from the victim.

Effecting Gopez’s arrest was the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Division.

But while Romeo was disappointed, his two-faced Juliet epitomized patience as they had been going at it in the Internet – flirting and sending racy pictures – since 2017.

Except that while Romeo was sending his best shots in his birthday suit, Gopez was apparently sending him pictures straight from a porn site.

“For us millennials, that’s called ‘a trap.’ When you misrepresent yourself to set up another,” said writer Sundy Locus.

“That can also happen to ‘frenemies.’ Of your best friend betraying you by revealing dark secrets you entrusted to him or her,” she added.

Gopez sent the threats to the victim via a social media platform.

He is facing 17 years in prison for robbery-extortion charges in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
