More ‘anomalous’ deals unveiled

Lapu-Lapu City Councilor Jennify Tan-Dungog is fast earning the reputation of anti-graft crusader as she continues to expose the city government’s alleged anomalous transactions one after the other.

Dubbed Ms. Exposé by her supporters and critics, Dungog earlier had called the public’s attention to the alleged multi million-peso allotted for the repair work of a 37-year-old and obsolete road grader.

Despite the haste by which the funding was released, Dungog claimed no actual repair work was conducted since the unit was beyond rehabilitation.

After hitting Mayor Paz Radaza hard on the old grader issue, Dungog wants her to explain on another questionable deal that the city government has entered into recently.

This time, Dungog is taking Radaza to task on the alleged purchase in 2017 of P39 million unclogging truck that was suddenly listed as “junk” by the city government.

In an exclusive interview, Dungog said she had received reports that the two-year old truck is now on the “junk” status and beyond repair despite it being relatively new.

“The grader is just a tip of the iceberg and this truck purchase is another example of people’s money being wasted (on anomalous purchases,” the lady councilor said.

This, as she vowed to expose more alleged anomalies happening inside the city hall claiming that Radaza could not accuse her of politicking because she is not running in this year’s elections.

This reporter tried to contact Radaza for her reaction to the allegations against her but failed as of press time.
