Variety is good

Heartthrob Kapamilya actor Piolo Pascual believes that variety is the spice of life. These days, he wears many hats as a father, celebrity actor and endorser, film producer, sports enthusiast and entrepreneur.

As a supportive dad, he makes sure to assist his son Iñigo through his acting journey. “One of the many reasons why I’m doing ASAP is because I’m with him. I want to be able to share whatever kind of experiences and learning I had about show business through the years,” Piolo said.

While he is proud of how far Inigo’s acting and music career has gone through the years, Piolo hopes that his son gets to choose the right projects and sing the right songs — for him to make his mark in the industry.

In terms of his own showbiz career, Piolo is busy with his acting commitment for the Saturday night sitcom Home Sweetie Home and hosting/performing on Sundays for the afternoon variety show ASAP. Aside from these roles, though, the 42-year-old actor shared that he opts to do other things like producing more films.

He founded Spring Films, an independent film production firm, in 2009. The company has made noteworthy films like the Kimmy Dora movies and Kita Kita.

Amid all his duties in front of and behind the camera, Piolo makes it a point to keep a healthy and active lifestyle. He engages in a lot of different sports like badminton, marathon, triathlon and boxing. “As one grows old, the body’s metabolism slows down, so these days, I am very much keen on diversifying my sports activities by adding more workouts and exercises,” Piolo explained.

THE actor was launched as the first celebrity brand ambassador of snack food franchise business Potato Giant. Sought-after endorser

Recently, Piolo was launched as the first celebrity brand ambassador of snack food franchise business Potato Giant.

The venture, which was first introduced to the market in 2007, is known for its bite-size potato snacks such as fries, potato wedges and mozzarella balls. The business’ most unique product, though, are the “Potpots” or what it calls two freshly cut, fried and flavored potatoes joined together.

According to Potato Giant’s treasurer and co-founder Erica Mendoza, it was not hard to choose Piolo as its prime endorser as he is one of today’s most sought-after celebrities who is “very down to earth, approachable and professional.”

Piolo, on the other hand, was drawn to the product as its main ingredient, potatoes, are harvested from Philippine farmlands and grown by Filipino farmers. He also finds Potato Giant’s business concept fun and innovative. “I find it interesting to endorse and talk about brands like these,” Piolo remarked.

In his online advertisement for Potato Giants, he is met by customers who would like to have a taste of his ordered “Potpots.” And when he shares a slice of it, a girl screams in delight, saying “Nasa akin na ang Potpots ni Piolo!”

Potato Giants is found in select malls and establishments nationwide. For more information, visit http://www.potatogiantph.com.
