Ashley’s case cracked soon

The family of Ashley Abad, the young lady who died during the celebration of the Sinulog Festival in Cebu City, is appealing to the victim’s boyfriend to surface and reveal the real reason behind her untimely death.

This, as police probers said they already have “persons of interest’ in Ashley’s case and that it’s only a matter of time before they eventually crack the case and file appropriate charges against those responsible for her death.

The authorities, however, refused to disclose the identities of the probable suspects pending the official results of their investigation.

A video footage that has been circulating on the Internet shows the victim fainting while being surrounded by several persons during the party.

In an interview, Jose Alfonso, the victim’s father, said his daughter’s boyfriend whom he did not identify, and their friends, could help in the immediate resolution of the case because they were with her before the tragedy struck.

The elder Abad, however, expressed disappointment because his daughter’s boyfriend is refusing to cooperate and has not communicated with them, since she died a day after attending a party.

“If they want to help me, I need their cooperation so that we can move on… if they’re not guilt, they have to cooperate with us,” Abad said in a TV interview.

“I want justice for Ashley,” Jose Alfonso said.

He added their family is still waiting for the result of the autopsy to determine the real cause of her death.

The authorities, however, refused to disclose the identities of the probable suspects pending the official results of their investigation.

Initial medical examination results indicated that Ashley died due to party drug overdose.

“Every morning I bring her to school, in the afternoon she calls me to pick her up, I will miss that. So painful for me,” the father said.

“For many years, I’ve been taking care of her and in just a split second that she was not with me, she would be gone from us forever,” he added.

Ashley was laid to rest last Sunday afternoon.
