Classy ‘druggie’ armed with MK 4

A jeepney barker packed a lot of heat when arrested by Pasig City policemen Tuesday night, wielding a high-end Colt Mark IV cal. 45 pistol instead of the usual paltik or homemade gun seized from “bottom-dweller” criminal personalities.

But the suspect, Jeffrey Javier, 35, proved himself to be in the lucrative business of dealing drugs as P16,000 worth of shabu was seized from him by cops.

A barker makes a living by calling for passengers for jeepney drivers who usually pay P5 for a full load of 14 commuters.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Danilo Cruz of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 152. He was charged with illegal possession of firearms after his arrest at 282 A. Policarpio St., Barangay. San Joaquin, Pasig City.

The pistol’s magazine was loaded with seven bullets. The arresting police officers also seized 30 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 5.61 grams.

The suspect supplies drugs at the street level from his source at Barangay Ususan in Taguig City, policemen said.
