Phisgoc reshuffles

The organizational chart of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) undergoes a facelift as it enters the final stretch of its preparation for the 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Tom Carrasco said he has been promoted from deputy director to director general while Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) secretary general Patrick Gregorio will assume the post of director general for operations.

Both of them will be under Ramon Suzara, who will be the chief operating officer, the second in command behind Phisgoc chief executive officer Alan Peter Cayetano.

Former POC chief Celso Dayrit will serve as Gregorio's right-hand man as he was named deputy director general for operations.

"We have some changes in the organizational chart as we approach the final year of preparation," said Carrasco, adding that POC president Ricky Vargas, Philippine Sports Commission chairman William "Butch" Ramirez and Cayetano will get to keep their respective seats in the board.

Also retaining their respective seats are Bases Conversation and Development Authority vice president Arrey Perez (director general for Clark and mayor of the Athletes Village), Philippine Sports Institute chief Marc Velasco (deputy director general of Athletes Village), Dave Carter (director for venues), Alona Quintos (director for accreditation and uniforms), Ed Clariza (director for games services), Jose Mundo (director for information technology) and POC chairman Bambol Tolentino (sports director).
