Batocabe gunman surrenders

Henry Yuson, the alleged gunman in the killing of AKO Bicol Party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe, surrendered to authorities Thursday afternoon.

An alleged former member of New People’s Army, Yuson surrendered to the Philippine Army in Sorsogon. He tagged Daraga Mayor Carlwyn Baldo as the mastermind, saying the mayor contracted them for P5 million. He said Baldo did not pay them.

Yuson and six others are now facing double murder charges for the slay of Batocabe and his bodyguard.

Batocabe, who was running for mayor of Daraga in next year’s mid-term elections, was gunned down on 22 December while he was distributing Christmas gifts to senior citizens and persons with disability at a barangay basketball court in Daraga.
