Drunk shoots self dead

A man said to be drunk shot himself dead while reportedly playing with his gun in Barangay San Luis, Antipolo City Tuesday. Christopher Sanchez, 44, a construction worker, was rushed to the Padilla District Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Initial investigation showed that the incident happened inside the victim’s house at Sanchez Compound along Sitio Kaysipot Road.

The victim was having a drinking spree with his son, Kevin Patrick, 21, when he played with his unlicensed gun and accidentally shot himself in the chest.

The gun was turned over by his son to the authorities.

In Mandaluyong City, a 19-year-old man, James Esguerra, was arrested in a buy-bust operation along Block 27, Barangay Addition Hills.

Recovered from the suspect were two sachets of dried marijuana leaves and drug paraphernalia inside a coin pouch.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect before the City Prosecutors Office of Mandaluyong.
