Condo raid yields firearms

A number of firearms, ammunition and capsules believed to contain illegal drugs were confiscated by joint elements of National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Southern Police District and Pasay City police in a raid on a condominium unit in Pasay City yesterday.

NCRPO chief Director Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar said the raid was a follow-up operation against Taiwanese Jinhao Zhang who was arrested several days ago in Tondo, Manila.

Yesterday’s raid on Zhang’s unit in a condominium along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City was in accordance with the search warrant issued by Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 111 Judge Wilhelmina Jorge Wagan.

Confiscated were five .99 caliber pistols, 12 pieces of .99 magazines, 70 pieces of ammunition and one canister with a number of capsules believed to be illegal drugs.

When policemen arrested Zhang in Goodlife Hotel along Mapua Street on 24 August around six kilograms of shabu with an estimated street value of P40 million were seized.

Eleazar said the firearms, ammunition and capsules found in Zhang’s condominium will be used as additional evidence against him.
