‘Kaladkaren’ cries discrimination

Impersonator Jervi Li, or more popularly known as “Kaladkaren Davila” — a spoof of ABS-CBN’s anchor Karen Davila – yesterday decried the refusal of a Makati Bar to allow him and his companions entry simply because they are gay.

In a TV interview, Li said that the incident happened last Saturday, 25 August. He also posted a video of the confrontation with a bouncer at H&J Sports Bar and Restaurant, where he and his friends were being barred from entering.

The bouncer was heard in the video as saying: “Please don’t be offended; we’re just following orders.”

Li said he was offended because the action is “discriminating against people like us.” He added they were shocked at the new policy of the bar because they have been there before.
