UP Singing Ambassadors triumph anew

THE UP Singing Ambassadors. The University of the Philippines Singing Ambassadors (UPSA) bagged the grand prize at the 66th Concorso Polifoncio Internazionale “Guido d’Arezz” Choral Competition.

The group announced their victory on their Facebook page, saying they also captured four other awards in the compulsory category, secular music, sacred music and monographic category.

The victory in Italy will also serve as their ticket to joining the most prestigious choral competition, the European Choral Grand Prix set next year in Arezzo.

“We still have a month left to spend in Europe but we are so excited to bring back home the laureates we achieved for the Filipino people,” UPSA said.

The group credited their success to Rafael Isberto, whom they described as their “number one cheerleader.”

“This win is especially dedicated to our beloved Kuya Paeng: UPSA’s number one cheerleader. Ad majorem dei gloriam!”

UPSA also won at the Sing Berlin! International Choir Competition.
