Dragons zap Panthers

CEBU CITY — The Cebu Eastern College Dragons survived a late uprising by the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation Baby Panthers for a 71-64 victory yesterday in the secondary match of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) at the Cebu Coliseum.

With erstwhile suspended team consultant Mark Tallo back on the bench to help call the shots, the Dragons have three players in double figures, led by Ivan Ares who finished with 26 points. Tallo was suspended during the CESAFI Partner’s cup pre-season game.

The Cebu institute of Technology-University Baby Wildcats debuted with a 74-61 upset of the Southwestern University-Phinma Baby Cobras.
