Japan looking for Pinoy caregivers

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has announced that caregiver jobs in Japan will be soon be available to Filipinos.

Some 300 to 1,000 caregiver jobs will be needed in Japan come September.

A television report noted that the guidelines for the Japanese government’s Technical Internship Training Program (TITP) have been finalized and are expected to be signed for implementation next month.

POEA deputy administrator Jocelyn Sanchez said applicants should watch out for these job orders coming from POEA-licensed recruitment agencies, as well as prepare their documents ahead.

Sanchez said care workers in Japan are paid more compared to other Asian and European countries. It is possible, the report added, that the salary would start at no less than P50,000 to P70,000 per month.

Fluency in Niponggo is also not required upon application. The POEA official said employers will be responsible for the language training of successful applicants.
